White Spruce (picea glauca) A straight and tall tree easily recognized by its short bluish-green needles and nice overall appearance. Cones always hang down. Beautiful year-round color. The white spruce tolerates cold windy conditions, partial shade and wet soils.
Usually slow to medium growing to approx. 60' to 80' tall with a 20' to 25' spread.
White Spruce grow between 6" and 1' tall per year at this size depending on the soil and weather conditions. White Spruce can be trained to a pyramid shape and become more dense by pruning their branches while not budding in the spring.
