White Pine (a.k.a. eastern white pine) (pinus strobus)
Eastern white pine are the tallest evergreen tree in North America. A hardy, valuable tree with clustered soft blue-green needles. The white pine is an ideal and popular privacy screen or windbreaker. Likes moist, well drained soils.
Usually fast growing to approx. 120' to 140' tall with a 35' to 45' spread.
White pine grow between 1' and 2' tall per year at this size depending on the soil and weather conditions. White pine can be trained to be more dense by breaking their candles (new growth) in half while budding in the spring.
