Fraser Fir (a.k.a. balsam fir) (abies fraseri) The fraser fir, like the balsam fir, is a gorgeous and uniformly pyramid-shaped tree. Strong branches are turned slightly upward giving this tree a compact appearance. Fraser fir will also do well on fertile, rocky to sandy acidic soils.
Usually slow to medium growing to approx. 60' to 80' tall with a 25' to 30' spread.
Fraser Fir grow between 6" and 1' tall per year at this size depending on the soil and weather conditions. Fraser Fir can be trained to a pyramid shape and become more dense by pruning their branches while not budding in the spring.
