Douglas Fir (pseudotsuga menziesii)
This magnificent specimen has a rounded shape and a straight trunk with soft gray-green to blue-green needles. The douglas fir prefers sun or light shade tolerating heat and drought conditions. The traditional Christmas tree.
Usually fast growing to approx. 120' to 140' tall (or taller) with a 30' to 40' spread.
Douglas Fir grow between 1' and 2' tall per year at this size depending on the soil and weather conditions. Norway Spruce can be trained to a pyramid shape and become more dense by pruning their branches while not budding in the spring.
